Prepare for your high school year by meeting other exchange students, learning about American culture and practicing English. EF Preparation Camp is designed to help you get ready for your exchange year.
What you will learn
Become more comfortable speaking English before meeting your host family and starting school. You will meet “professionals” – former exchange students – to hear about their experiences and ask their advice, and you will take classes from native speaking teachers who offer practical instruction about American life, culture and current events. Many of these teachers work as EF representatives, so you will stay in contact with them throughout the year.
Things you will do
Besides meeting new friends and learning about your host country, you will take part in many fun activities that might include:
- Playing sports
- Attending movie nights
- Creating an American-style yearbook for the camp
- Visit a shopping mall or have a day at the beach
- See a big city like Boston
Take advantage of our many programs, such as arts and crafts, music, games and excursions to different cities and sights.
What is included?
- Accommodation in university dorms with other students
- Three meals during weekdays, two meals during weekends
- One or more excursions or sightseeing events
- Onward travel to your host family
- Regular support from EF staff and former EF students
