Amerika' da Yaşam
The third largest country in the world, 300 million inhabitants, 50 states, three mountain ranges, one unique opportunity to live your own American Dream.
EF’s experience in America spans the length and breadth of this great nation as we have hosted students in all the states, except for Alaska and Hawaii, so far.
Each state has its own characteristics and in general you will find that there is a strong sense of regionalism. You will most likely live in a community where the school and the local church play a very important role. Your new home town could be on the Atlantic coast near some of the oldest US cities or in the central northeast close to the Great Lakes which cover an area larger than most European countries. You could be spending a year in the “grain basket” of central US or in cowboy land in the Great Plains of the far west.
Welcoming and friendly, your American host family will quickly make you feel at home as you come to terms with the cultural differences and explore a new lifestyle. You will cut out pumpkin lanterns for Halloween, share a lavish feast for Thanksgiving, cheer your favourite team at the Superbowl and learn the difference between football and soccer.
The academic calendar is packed with memorable highlights. The annual Homecoming celebrations during the football season are steeped in tradition and involve the entire school and community. The Prom is your chance to polish your dancing shoes and there will be plenty of opportunities to discover your hidden talents on the track or the sports field.
