Oxford
Captivating student city
King Henry II founded Oxford, Britain’s first university
in 1167 as the alternative to studying in Paris. Today
students flock here to study in a truly academic
environment one in five people living in Oxford are
students. Explore the university’s medieval quads and
mysterious baroque chapels, or discover its hidden gems
in the Ashmolean Museum. In your spare time, take a
relaxing punt down the picturesque banks of the river,
shop at the quirky markets or dine at the local cafés.
The busy city of London is also just an hour’s train ride
away, perfect for shopping and sightseeing.
Surrounded by academia
The EF Oxford campus boasts on-site residences, a wellequipped
library, a first-class cafeteria and a student gym,
all within beautiful and leafy surroundings. Less than five
minutes walk away you can find Oxford Brookes University,
which is one of our closest partner universities in the UK.
As an EF student you can take advantage of certain guest
lectures and Open Days at Oxford Brookes, as well as
have access to its sports facilities and library. Since Oxford
Brookes University moderates EF’s University Foundation
Year, many EF University Preparation Abroad students
choose to transfer there for an undergraduate degree.
