Synopsis:
Required for September 2008 an enthusiastic EfL teacher for an international sixth form college working with 16-19 year old students who are in the UK to study GCE A levels to enter UK universities. This will be a ten month contract.
The Role
EF Brittin College in Torquay is an international Sixth Form College. It has been expressly developed in order to meet the needs of bright, capable and talented overseas students who are hungry for academic achievement in this country leading on to University study.
We provide GCE A level courses to students who wish to go on to apply for prestigious universities in the English speaking world. Our students follow standard A level courses which are identical to those taught in schools and college throughout England and Wales.
All our students receive additional lessons in English to achieve the highest possible IELTs grade for university entry and to improve their English for academic purposes. Students are required to have a reasonable standard of English at entry as all our lessons are delivered in English. Students typically have an IELTs level of 5 at entry and need to raise this to 6 or 7 for the purposes of university entry.
EFL delivery is central to our success and we have a team of highly motivated and enthusiastic EFL teachers to deliver our English programme.
Presently the majority of our students come from China, Russian speaking countries, and Vietnam. In addition to these main groups there are students from many different countries on roll at the moment and we are expanding every year.
The successful candidate will be working in a highly committed team of EfL teachers along with A level teachers delivering high quality lessons.
